He beat a prime Johnson, a prime Trinidad, you can try to discredit Hopkins as not having fought anyone substantial but it just doesn't fly. I really don't think you give Hopkins enough credit... he didn't get to where he is by sucking. I think this fight may be a bad choice, as you said... but you can't count him out so easily.

Eubank was done? he was 29yrs old and moved up weights to fight after this, he even said he was in the best shape of his career fighting Calzaghe, Just for the record sheika beat Johnson in 2000 < in his prime and the fight after that got stopped by Calzaghe. Hopkins gets respect for what he has done still fighting at his age but his major wins? You have to state the obviouse, the fighters he boxed where not that great when they moved up weight.

Hopkins has fought great fighters but they where way too small Johnson was a good fighter but not great winky Wright small guy Tito moved up two weights to fight Hopkins, science will tell you that you cant just jump up weight divisions and be the same fighter you cant carry the power and I mean this for 12 rounds when you get tired you have not got that power that can pull you through a tough fight
