stinkydiz, I know you were a huge Khan fan . What made you wake up to reality? In boxing many are called and few are chosen. You have to be able to give it, you have to able to take it and you must have the will to win. That is the starting point . If you are deficient in any one of those categories it is not happening. Khan can't take it add to that Khan's amateur boxing style and poor defense and the omens can not be good. He should beat Fagan but Prescott is too good for him.

idatomhue.well someone pointed out that i wasnt looking at the whole picture in boxing and that it was my own fault i hadnt spotted khan was goin to get ko'd. and if i didnt want to go through that again, i should get better educated about boxing. that helped me to see the light along with him getting blasted off the face of the earth in 54 seconds flat. im sure roach can help him with his defence and style, he's got alot going for him, but you're right, he cant take it.

OK I have something new to say that has not been said before. He will improve his defense under Roach and defend his chin better and last longer against better opponents when he eventually stops fighting bums and that means he will find out more about another potential weakness I have spotted. He has sharp features with low body fat that = vulnerability to cuts and that nose of his is the kind of nose a boxer is going to try and break. His physical make up is not designed to take beatings.

stinkydiz, I used to box and many years ago sparred with a guy that fought for the world title Adrian Dodson. I could take all his shots to the head apart from when I was hit on the chin.When he caught me it was as if the fuse box went off I could not do anything about it but I could stay on my feet when he hit me anywhere else and it hurt. Khan will be able to stay on his feet if he is hit hard on the head providing it is not on the chin but on the chin it is lights out.

what about the left hook to the temple where gomez caught him? pacquiao had poor punch resistance to the body area and so he and roach used a martial arts technique using sticks to overcome this and it worked for him. i read roach was going to try martial arts techniques with khan to try and overcome his problem.

stinkydiz, Getting hit on the temple is at a much lower level than getting chinned it is a different experience. Khan got wobled with the temple shot but could recover. If you are chinny and get nailed there it is like you are OK one minute then get nailed and it is like you are straight into a heavy acid trip that you can't get out of.Your consciousness is totaly altered. With a temple shot you have enough about you to move around to avoid trouble and recover to get a second wind.

stinkydiz, As far as training is concerned to improve the chin It can't be done. You can learn to protect it but your innate chin is a genetic function. It is nothing to do with will power. You can train for pain anywhere else. The funny thing is getting chinned does not really hurt that much you feel the punch and then it is like you are on an acid trip. It is a strange surreal experience. You need to experience it to really understand it . It feels nothing like it looks like.

stinkydiz, There are examples of chinny boxers that have gone on to win win titles but they tend to be either elusive very difficult to hit or big punchers.Thomas Hearns was chinny but he had the best right hand in the business without it he would not have made it. Khan is fairly easy to hit and has moderate power his main asset is hand speed. I don't feel he has enough in the bag to negate his chin at world level. His close in fighting skills are very poor also.There are too many ???

idatomhue. yes i agree with you. khans been sparring with michael gomez recently for the fagan fight. gomez says he has lost weight and is faster and there is a big improvement. it'll be interesting to see how he's improved though.
