It depends, right handed boxers stand with their left foot in front and left handed boxers with their right foot. the right handed poeple can jab with the left hand and give a hard punch with their right hand because they can use their whole body to hit. thats the reason.

i don't that kind of freedom with my punching bag, it hangs from a freestanding/weighted down frame. If the bag swings too far left or right, the whole frame falls over, i have to catch my bag in between punches, its mad.
