(July 2)After years in captivity -- Colombia's military says it has rescued 15-hostages -- including former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, and 3- U.S. Military contractors. Betancourt was kidnapped in 2002. Colombia's Defense Minister says no one was hurt in the military's operation. He says army commandos captured the FARC rebels manning a security ring around the hostages without any loss of life. The other 11 hostages freed were Colombian soldiers and police. Betancourt - a French-Colombian - is the rebel group's highest-profile hostage She is believed to suffer from serious liver problems and was pictured looking frail in a recent video. The Farc group has been fighting to overthrow the Colombian government for more than 40 years. ___ ___, The Associated Press.

I am leftist i dont agree with the tactic of Farc (take hostages with this tactiks they made "heroes" people like Betancourt) But you see for media deserves only the life of Betancourt and nto more than 1500 leftist hostages and syndicalists that the fascist goverment of Uribe has in the jail. Viva Farc. the whole thing is fishy. the woman didn't act very scared, like she had just been rescued by 'terrorists.'
