Grandmaster Eugene Floyd was great too, he runs Ninja University in Irvington, NJ. Him and Kevin fought a couple years back. Master Floyd is a fighting genius.

What kind of ridiculous sparring style is this? Always kicking with the front foot. Turning their backs to each other. Who stands like that? These guys seem to have some athletic capabilities, but the style is bogus. Totally unrealistic.

Turning their backs? What are you talking about? and a tournament, ANY tournament, is by definition, not "realistic", since nobody's life is at stake. I appreciate the athleticism and creativity of these guys, and know some of them personally. Spar them, if you feel they can't fight, then tell us how it went.

I have an idea: COMPETE in some tournaments, and own the whole sport! Don't deprive us all of your talents any longer. The super duper kryptonite style of fighting you possess will obviously rule, and don't worry about all the haters who can't keep up.

I have competed in a lot of tournaments and won a fair share of them. I'm not the greatest fighter in the world, but I know the difference between a real martial art/real sparring and some clowns in fancy outfits doing some half assed moves they saw in some movie somewhere. You don't know what I mean with turning their backs and kicking with their front? That only proves my point.

Hmm.... you won some? Where? against whom? I'm not being facetious, I really want to know. Was it a nationally ranked tournament? ARE you ranked? in ANY league? Does anyone know who you are? Do they tremble in fear at the thougt of you entering a tournament? Can you name ONE person you beat? Yep, it's a hard life, being a message board "tough guy".

Maybe you think standing in a back stance, waiting to throw a back leg roundhouse, or reverse punch, while Kiaing at the top of your lungs, is the ultimate in tournament fighting. Let me tell you, that "front foot" will be hitting you with all manner of axe kicks, hook-rounds, and various spin kicks(with back turned, no less!), you'll be blitzed, and plain and simple, you'll LOSE. please make intelligent comments in the future

I'm with you pop. I get tired of hearing people talk about this fighting and saying that it wouldn't work against a tank. No joke!! It's a different sport, jackass! I have fought with people using techniques similiar to these (I competed in sport karate), and guess what.?. I knocked them out. Yes...its true! With my front leg. Hurry halfoat, call Ripley. Why don't you ask Bill Wallace if it is possible to knock someone out with your front leg?

Some people are never satisfied. Not everyone on the street is skilled enough to take a blackbelt down, MMA style, and the blackbelt in question had better be skilled in some ground fighting in that case. I think some people get upset because they can't do the moves seen here themselves(except maybe in a form), so they have to find some way to make themselves feel better.

Amen bro. It's amazing to see some of the comments that people make. Useless? Yeah, I guess speed enough to strike first, timing to hit and not be hit back, and skill enough to pull off some amazing moves on a resisting opponent would be useless in a fight. Duh.

I have been competing in WKF sport Karate for about 11 years.. comparing the two, I would say this style is sloppy and very weak. Just an opinion, but they lack the basic Gyaku Zuki or any other hand technique.. I would love to see these guys fight the likes of Wayne Otto, Christopher Pinna, Davide Benetello, Alex Biamonte.

What I've posted here isn't "the best of the best" in sport karate(with a couple of exceptions); it's merely some fighters doing things I found entertaining, and watchable. Subjective yes, lol, but these aren't seminar films, or "my badasses are better than yours" contests, just stuff I find interesting, from fighters I respect. There are a fighters in this video who can definitely do more impressive(and painful!) things than what's here

seriously... c'mon now... Point fighting is a completely different game from say; sport jujitsu. I whip kicks at peoples heads all day during sparring, but you can definately bet your ass I wont throw too many headkicks during a sport jujitsu fight, different games, different ways to play them, stop being ignorant... one thing Martial Arts should have tought any of you is to be open minded, and expand your horizons... and if you havent learned that, I wish you the best of luck in the future.

I'm with jose and pop. My instructor fought for 20 years nationally and knocked out some of the best fighters in the world, with just a reverse punch.
