its easier to tap ... ( 10 months ago by adamsteed)
its easier to tap tempo to song when it isn't warped and round up or down to the closest tempo after a bit of tapping and then warping the song to that tempo. getting rid of the space at the begining is needed but most tracks need more than 1 warp marker even if its just to be safe. use the metronome instead of a gay instrument
What if you are ... ( 9 months ago by ISwede)
What if you are dealing with a rock song and it seems the human drummer isn't exactly a human metronome. Seems pretty easy to warp something that was electronically put together in the first place.
Live songs can be ... ( 9 months ago by innerstatejt)
Live songs can be just as simple. Ableton will make time corrections each time a drummer is off the bpm. This makes it easy to sync someone like stevie wonder to an electronic tune.

Would that be in beat mode or complex mode?
usually complex ... ( 9 months ago by innerstatejt)
usually complex mode will give you better results for a full song. you'll hear the difference of which mode sounds best.
Thanks for the vid. ... ( 8 months ago by irwinsteve)
Thanks for the vid. What if there are no drums in the track nor much pulse? Or if the track has actually been previously cut in the middle of a section for a few seconds (maybe the vinyl originally skipped or something?) Can ableton cope? I can't see how it would?
i have a question, ... ( 8 months ago by keakou)
i have a question, When i drag an audio file into session view, i dont see the waves on the arrangement. how can i drag the file into a session and see it in the arrangement also? or can i not do that at all and just have to drag the file into the arrange.
in session window ... ( 8 months ago by innerstatejt)
in session window double click on the audio file (clip) and the wave will show up in the window below. Also, dragging a file to the session window does not put it in the arrange window. My DVD answers alot of thee questions and I highly recommend it.
Keakou, you just ... ( 8 months ago by ButterShark)
Keakou, you just asked the same exact question I have. I'm thinking you can just record the clip from beginning to end and it will then show up in the arrangement view, though I haven't had a chance to try it yet--but there must be a faster way. Cuz the only successful renderings I've had so far, have been in the arrangement view. I can't seem to render full songs in session view--when I try to play them in Torq, a 5 minute song plays from beginning to end in like a split second. WTF?
Depending on the ... ( 8 months ago by ButterShark)
Depending on the song, you can't always visually tell exactly where the downbeat starts. Anyone with half a brain would use an audible reference point.

Not really enough to notice in most cases. there are several warp modes you can choose from some sounds better than others.

Cool ok, but for instance if you warped a few tracks to say 128bpm, and then burned them to cd for djing purposes... would they still be acceptable to play in clubs compared to the original track?

you can just drag and drop into the track space from the folder you keep your tracks in (although be warned this creates a little analysis file in the same folder)
