ableton will look for the warped file usually in the same folder as the audio file. if its in a different folder, ableton will think it isn't there. hope that helps solve the problem

How do you go about warping tracks with an ambient intro? I've done my best but it still sounds a little odd. Do you have any tips please????

wow thanks so much! ive been trying to find out how to do it this way for ages, as i tend to remix old reggae tunes which as you would know autowarp doesnt quite pick up the changing tempos. you made this really simple for me, thanks so much!

Great video--thanks! Question, though: How could I save this file so that it stays corrected when I play it in other programs (like Torq, for instance)? Would I just render to disk as is?
Warping a track is ... ( 7 months ago by innerstatejt)
Warping a track is only going to work as a 'warped' track in ableton. Best suggestion would be to render the track and save it as a new wave or aif file for torq etc..

wow you explained a lot in one video, i was watching other warping vids but by far this is the best yet. Good job.
best warping ... ( 6 months ago by dejan989)
best warping tutorial i've seen so far. i couldn't figure out warping until now. thanks! but what I want to know is where can I see the original BPM of the song I am warping or just inserting. I mean there are times when i want to change the tempo of the mix by adding a song with a very different bpm rate (and I don't care if those arent the rules of DJing) and then after the crossfade or whatever return it to its original tempo slowly or after a break without just clicking the warp button again
Under the warp ... ( 6 months ago by innerstatejt)
Under the warp button in your clip properties it will tell you the original tempo. you can either automate the tempo back to the original tempo or slowly drag the master bpm at the top left.
yeah, thanks again. ... ( 6 months ago by dejan989)
yeah, thanks again. got all confused because the seg. bpm's under warp changed every time I moved the warp markers. (so I thought that wasnt the original bpm of the song) so now i'm just following the seg.bpm in the clip properties with my main tempo. good enough for me..
WAIT am I actually ... ( 6 months ago by dejan989)
WAIT am I actually zeroing in on the tempo as I move the markers to the metronome (drum kick) !? !? damn thats why the bpm changes in the clip properties.. and yeah i feel so dumb right now

Hi there, this ... ( 4 months ago by vagrant1)
Hi there, this would be a good way to warp mark a track that had been, say, ripped fom vinyl - where the tempo changes slightly all the way thru the track. However there are much better ways to do it now - not sure why you have to do it "the hard way"!?
I have another ... ( 4 months ago by innerstatejt)
I have another video letting people know how to use auto-warp as well. It's good to know both ways so you can warp in any situation.

Ableton will conform the song to the master tempo.
